Amazon Creek (West Eugene)
Saturday, June 12, 2021
This June let's take the trash out and give in to caring for our urban waterways.
Eugene’s Amazon Creek needs your help with litter cleanup as it flows through our community. This important urban waterway can be inundated at times with garbage that is harmful to habitat and water quality. Volunteers are needed throughout the Amazon Creek corridor to remove this debris and improve the conditions for all flora and fauna along the way.
Bring your boots and waders and let's see what we can find! This is a family-friendly event – no experience necessary. RSVP required so we can be sure to have plenty of tools and gloves.
Volunteers should meet up at Richardson Bridge on Saturday. Parking is available in between Buck and Bailey Hill in the lots by the dance studio or nearby.
Our lovely event sponsor Coconut Bliss is stoking the fires of friendly competition with a prize for the craziest piece of trash collected! The winner will get a home ice cream machine - The Bliss Maker - just in time to stay cool all summer!
All volunteers will be treated to ice cream coupons from Coconut Bliss!
