Celebration of 70th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Children's Rights, Human Rights:
A Multicultural Celebration of Our Future
The Eugene Human Rights Commission, WeCU (Whole Eugene Community United, an Human Rights Commission work group), and Churchill High School invite you to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
.
The celebration is free, open to the public, and all ages are welcome to enjoy:

Live Music
Children's corner
The event will focus on global and local human rights from the perspective of children, and on the
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
, a treaty which has been ratified by every country in the United Nations, except for the United States, which has also not ratified the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Entertainment will include performances by children and youth groups representing different cultures, religions, and ethnicities. Speakers will highlight efforts to protect children’s rights. Food will include cuisine from different cultures.
