What are your participant policies?

In order to provide a safe and fun environment for everyone, it is important that the guidelines below are followed.


Appropriate Social Behavior

Participants will refrain from behavior that can be detrimental to the group (hitting, kicking, self-abusing, refusal to stay with group, etc…). If a participant’s behavior is detrimental, a parent or guardian will be called and will be required to pick up the participant immediately. Adaptive Recreation staff and volunteers are not prepared or expected to deal with significant behavior issues. Please alert the office in advance regarding issues of concern so we can work together to effect a positive, safe experience for everyone. If a participant demonstrates unsafe action, that participant will be requested to withdraw from the activity with the balance of fees refunded. 


Personal Needs Assistance

Personal arrangements must be made for participants needing assistance with behavior, feeding, medication, using the restroom or dressing during a program. Please inform Adaptive Recreation at time of registration when an assistant will be assisting or attending. A current Participant Information Form is required to be on file in order to participate in most Adaptive Recreation programs. It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian to ensure that current emergency phone numbers are on file with the Adaptive Recreation Program. This is critical in the event of a medical or behavioral emergency. 


Late Pickup / Drop Off Policy

Please be on time for programs or pickups. When participants are not picked up on time it costs the program in terms of staff time. These costs may be passed on in the form of increased fees for all participants. Coming late to a program also is disruptive and disrespectful to others. If you are riding RideSource, please let us know the pick-up and drop-off times. We’ll do our best to accommodate you. Please note that our office closes at 5:30 p.m. most evenings and is closed on the weekends. If you arrive before the scheduled activity time you most likely will need to wait outside until the staff have finished with their pre-trip/program meeting.
