02/17/17 01:17, 4716 ROYAL AVE

Charges: Reckless Driving, Driving without Privileges, Driving Uninsured – Case 1702579

A 35-year-old man from Eugene was reported to be swinging a wrench and broke a car window then drove the vehicle into a fence near the parking lot. CAHOOTS paramedics were called to check the man, Thomas Anthony Manze, age 35, for injuries and he was not injured. Bystanders at a Deli reported that two subjects and Manze had gotten into a fight, with the other two swinging chains at Manze. He got into his vehicle at that point. Manze didn’t have a valid driver’s license or present insurance. The vehicle was impounded.

Charges: Possession of Burglary Tools, Warrant – Case 1702570

An officer spotted a man later identified as Wesley Adam Coxley, age 36, of Eugene, riding a bicycle without headlights on Jefferson Street. He stopped the man and found he had four warrants (Failure to Appear on DUII, Reckless Driving, Unauthorized Entry into Motor Vehicle, and Interfering with a Police Officer). He was taken into custody on the warrant and found to be in possession of burglary tools.

Charges: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender – Case 1702544

An officer followed up on information that Ancel Price Reed, age 33, was out of compliance with his sex offender registration requirements. The officer investigated and located Reed at the Lane County Jail, where he had been lodged since being arrested on February2 for Possession of Methamphetamine and a warrant. Reed was cooperative with the officer until the officer told him he would be charged and then his demeanor changed and he scolded the officer.

Charges: Robbery 3, Warrant

Case 1702560

Police were called regarding a theft suspect fighting with loss prevention at Hirons. When officers arrived, loss prevention had the suspect, Renee Lynn Bovero, age 45, of Eugene, in handcuffs. It was reported she exited the store with merchandise and then when confronted outside was initially cooperative and then once back inside stopped and then pulled away and struggled on the ground with the loss prevention office. Bovero had a warrant for Possession of Heroin Failure to Appear.

Assault – Case 1702453

Officers were called to report of an assault and found LTD security officers struggling on the ground with the suspect, Paul Michael Leaf, age 34. Leaf had been pepper sprayed when he lunged toward one of the security officers. The officer helped Leaf flush his eyes. Leaf was reported to have been yelling in the terminal and a 17-year-old youth mimicked him and he came charging toward the youth and his 22-year-old sister. The sister stepped in front of her brother and Leaf pushed her and then they struggled, landing in a planter box. LTD security intervened and separated them and then Leaf lunged at one of the security officers and was pepper sprayed. Leaf was charged with Assault.

Burglary, UUV, ID Theft – Case 1702309, Case 1702432

A vehicle was stolen at 1200 block of Mill Street and reported by the owner, who also advised the residence had been entered and the vehicle keys and a wallet stolen (1702309). An alert officer spotted the stolen vehicle on February 14, 2017 at 1:57 p.m. and it was driving in the area of W. 5th and Blair Blvd. He watched it park and occupants got out and went into an apartment. Howard Stone Coburn, age 29, got into the car and then walked away. Officer arrived and Coburn ran, but an officer caught him behind The Board (formerly Tiny's Tavern). He was charged with Unauthorized Use of Vehicle and Possession of Methamphetamine. Coburn also had warrants for Contempt of Court (Municipal Court), and a Parole Violation warrant from the Oregon Parole Board. Officers contacted the occupants of the apartment and located a man who had a warrant, Christopher Michael Berry, age 34, who was in possession of a restricted weapon (brass knuckles), and meth. He was taken into custody on the warrant and also charged with Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine.

Burglary – Case 1702408

Officers responded to a burglary where there had been a struggle inside the home and the suspects fled. Several subjects had been seen coming and going from the apartment, which was supposed to be vacant. A property maintenance worker followed up and went inside and encountered a woman, later identified as Alaina Rose Pack, age 18. She yelled to another suspect, Jason Edwin Parette, age 20, who was also inside. Pack ran toward the maintenance worker, who told her to stop, but she drove forward into him and shoved him out of the way. Pack and Parette fled. The property maintenance worker and another were able to snap some photos as the pair fled and officers had good suspect information to go with. Officers spotted a Downtown Guide chasing Parette and they were able to get him into custody at 11th and Oak. A bystander pointed out that Pack had fled into Starbucks at Broadway and she was taken into custody there. Parette was charged with Burglary I and Theft I Receiving. Pack was charged with Burglary I.

Interfere with Public Transport, Criminal Trespass – Case 1702390

An officer was sent to LTD station regarding a man who was trespassing. The officer arrived and found the man, Steven Robert Pinedo, age 55, detained. Pinedo had been trespassed from all LTD properties but was riding the bus. Pinedo made threats to two LTD Public Safety officers during the EPD officer’s contact with him, and tried to provoke the two into fighting. He was charged with Interfering with Public Transport and Criminal Trespass.

Possession of Methamphetamine – Case 1702379

An officer was doing a routine patrol check and observed a man, later identified as Jesus Anthony Marinez, age 27, throw a bottle into the skateboard pit and ride off on his bike. The officer told him to stop but he continued across W. 2nd Avenue and then to Skinner’s Butte Park toward the river. He ran down the river bank and stop and was reaching into his pockets. He was taken into custody after a taser was displayed but not deployed. Marinez was in possession of meth. He was taken charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. He was also issued a citation for Not Crossing at a Right Angle.

Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1702374

Officers were sent to the Eugene Public Library for report of a disorderly subject. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified as Joseph Stephen Ginn, age 38, rolling in the street. Bystanders were trying to communicate with him. Ginn was intoxicated, swearing, and screaming racial slurs. Staff reported he had tipped over a hand sanitizer and thrown some books. He was asked to leave the library by security but refused. The officer placed Ginn into custody without incident although he screamed as he sat on the sidewalk. Ginn was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass 2.

Warrant, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Open Container – Case 1702364

An officer was sent to a vacant house for reports of trespassers inside. The officer located a man, Thomas Lee Anderson, age 47, who had trespassed there previously, walking up to an opening in the fence and peering through, but he started to walk away when he saw officers. Anderson was wanted for a parole violation (Robbery) and was detained on the warrant. He was also a registered sex offender who had not registered and was carrying an open container. He was taken into custody on the warrant and also charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Open Container.

Resisting Arrest, Theft 1 – Case 1702318

An officer was sent to a report of a stolen laptop at a fraternity. The owner of the laptop had expeditiously engaged the help of a computer-savvy friend when he noticed it missing. The friend performed some security maneuvers that locked the laptop down and provided intel leading to a man in Junction City who appeared to be in possession of the laptop. Officers worked with Junction City Police to contact the suspect, Kiah Loy Lawson, age 28, at his home. They knocked on the door and located Lawson, who struggled with officers before he was taken into custody. Lawson was charged with Resisting Arrest and Theft 1. The laptop was returned to the owner.

DUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1702284

An officer was called to the area regarding a man passed out at the wheel of a vehicle that was running at a stop sign. When he got there, he saw the vehicle’s brake lights come on and the vehicle turned onto Charnelton from Broadway. It didn’t signal the turn. Another officer located the vehicle at Broadway and 10th in a parking spot, and the driver, later identified as Nickolas Gary Cooper, age 36, of Eugene, appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat. The officer tapped on the window and interacted with Cooper, developing suspicion that he was under the influence. After an investigation, Cooper was charged with DUII, Reckless Driving, Turning without a Signal, Failure to Update Address on Driver’s License.

Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1702273

An officer was sent to Safeway for report of a trespasser. A man, later identified as David John Stetta, age 59, was sleeping in the food court of the store, was intoxicated, and had been asked to leave over the course of three hours. He refused and swore at the employee who asked him to leave. Stetta was reported to have then passed out of the floor. The officer contacted Stetta, who was lying in a pool of urine, and took him into custody for Criminal Trespass 2.

Improper Use of Emergency Phone – Case 1702278

An officer was sent to report of a disorderly man screaming in the street. Dispatch advised they also received a 911 call from the suspect who was screaming at the call takers. An officer contacted the screaming man, identified as Ivan Laird Warren, age 36, who was hostile and uncooperative. He was informed of the misuse of 911 and told not to call again if he didn’t have an emergency. He continued to scream as he ran down the street, dropping items. The officer did not pursue him, but collected his items for safekeeping. Warren called 911 again, screaming at the calltakers. The officer attempted a person stop of Warren, but he screamed and ran across W. 6th, then into the Side Pocket bar, startling customers. An employee tackled Warren and held him down until police arrived and took him into custody without incident. He was charged with Improper Use of Emergency Phone.

DUII – Case 1702230

An officer was sent to the intersection of Beltline and Roosevelt for a man passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle. Bystanders reported the driver, later identified as Jose Juan Gallegos Garcia, age 23, of Eugene, was passed out and they were unable to wake him. A bystander put the vehicle in park and removed the keys. Officers arrived and blocked the vehicle in and roused Gallegos Garcia. The officer suspected impairment and after an investigation charged Gallegos Garcia with DUI and Driving while Suspended.

DUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1702272

An officer stopped a driver of a Prius after it pulled out of a side street and nearly struck his patrol vehicle. The driver, Philip Terry Delong, age 72, of Eugene, was contacted and the officer suspected impairment. After an investigation, Delong was charged with DUII and Reckless Driving.

Possession of Heroin, Warrants – Case 1072269

An officer was driving northbound on River Road near Maxwell Road and spotted a Chevy Trailblazer with a defective brake light. He initiated a traffic stop and the Trailblazer, with three occupants, continued driving northbound slowly before it pulled into a parking lot and stopped. The officer contacted the driver, Charles Arthur Lambert, age 32, of Eugene. There was a restricted weapon (knife) on the center console. Lambert was reaching around and the officer told him to stop. The officer knew the front passenger, Dylan Thomas Denney, age 26, of Eugene, was on supervision, and the driver, Lambert, was suspended. Denney wanted to leave the vehicle, but was asked to stay. The officer had found Denney had a warrant for Theft 2 out of Municipal Court. Denney’s girlfriend arrived and parked behind the officer’s patrol vehicle. Another officer arrived to join the first officer and they took Denney into custody without incident. Denney was found to be in possession of heroin. Lambert was found to be in possession of heroin. The back passenger, Miles Lee Kersey, age 19, of Eugene was found to be in possession of meth. Denney was taken into custody on warrants and also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin. Lambert was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin and Driving While Suspended. Kersey was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.

DUII (cannabis) – Case 1702170

An officer spotted a Toyota Highlander apply its brakes too late at E. Broadway and pass the stop sign. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Tobin Compton Newburgh, age 36, of Eugene. He suspected Newburgh was impaired. After an investigation Newburgh was charged with DUII.

Hit and Run – Case 1702253

An officer was sent to investigate a hit and run crash where the suspect vehicle, a 1993 Lexus, had fled northbound onto Adkins Street after hitting a 1996 Honda Accord driven by a 42-year-old Eugene man. The officer found the involved vehicle with three occupants unloading property from it. The driver, Ryan Patrick Clough, age 30, of Springfield, was still in the driver’s seat. The officer contacted Clough and after further investigation arrested him for Hit and Run.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 

An officer was called to the area after report of a man in traffic telling others he had been menaced with a gun. The officer arrived and located the man, later identified as Marko James Lamson, age 30. Standing next to Lamson was the other involved man, age 43. That man said he was standing near his motorcycle and Lamson approached him and held out a soda. The man refused it and Lamson dropped it and grabbed the man’s helmet off his motorcycle and took off. The man chased Lamson and when he caught him, Lamson didn’t have his helmet anymore. Lamson then began waving down pedestrians and drivers reporting the man threatened him with a gun. It was reported vehicles had to swerve around him. There was no evidence to sustain the report of a gun. The man didn’t wish to press charges and went to look for his helmet, while Lamson was charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Burglary 2 – Case 1702004

Officers were investigating a case where an unknown person entered the Lok Yaun restaurant on February 3 at 10:32 a.m., and took money from the register area. A loss prevention officer for a retail business happened to see surveillance footage and notified officers of a possible suspect, Roland Julien Bocquel, age 27, of Florence. An officer followed up and found that Bocquel was a suspect in another case from Jung’s Mongolian Grill that happened on February 8 at 9:56 a.m. (17-02073). On February 11, an officer stopped Bocquel standing near an older model car behind Buckley House. The officer knew about the Attempts to Locate on Bocquel and contacted Bocquel. Bocquel was charged with both cases. For Mongolian Grill Theft 3, and for Lok Juan, Burglary 2 and Theft 2.

Menacing, Intimidation 2, Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon and Disorderly Conduct 2 – Case 1702262

Officers were dispatched to an armed dispute and when they arrived, they found a man, Hollis Hall, age 66, of Eugene, on his back in front of the location and holding a knife in his hand. A woman was trying to take the knife from him and he was resisting. Two officers grabbed Hall’s wrists and were able to get the knife away. It was reported that Hall had been inside the bar drinking when he became belligerent and refused to pay. He was asked to leave but refused. Another patron helped escort him out of the business and the bar didn’t wish to press charges. Another man, age 59 and who is black, came out of the business and when he came outside, Hall looked at him and told him he’d kill him, while using racial slurs, holding the knife and threatening to throw it at him. The knife is a restricted weapon and Hall is a convicted felon who is not allowed to own it. Hall was charged with Menacing, Intimidation 2, Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon and Disorderly Conduct 2.

Harassment, Warrant – Case 1702261

Officers were sent to Kentucky Fried Chicken on W. 11th after a disorderly man was detained by employees. Officers arrived and found the man, Dennis Raymond Lester, age 61, was being held down in the parking lot. It was reported that he had harassed a 34-year-old male employee and also punched the same employee a week ago when the employee took out the trash. On February 11, the employee contacted Lester, who was standing outside the entrance and told him he was not allowed to be on the property and harass customers. Lester became upset and hostile and slapped the employee’s phone out of his hand and began pushing him. Lester was in the drive-thru blocking it and refusing to leave. The employee and another detained him and held him until police arrived. Lester was charged with Harassment and taken into custody on a warrant.

Menacing, Escape 3, Unlawful Use of Weapon, Interfering with Peace Officer – Case 1702218

Two officers responded to the HUB Apartments regarding a trespasser. When they got there, a group of more than 10 people began to duck and run towards the officers, with a couple people yelling that a man had a gun. The officers observed a man, later identified as Kyle Rober Woody, age 19, sweeping a handgun towards the crowd. The officers challenged Woody, who ditched the firearm and fled on foot south towards the Campus Inn. The officers pursued him on foot, with other officers also coming to assist. A sergeant spotted Woody walking at Dutch Brothers at E. 11th and High Street. Woody did not stop for the sergeant and a taser was used to take him into custody. The handgun, which was loaded, was recovered. Woody was charged with Menacing, Disorderly Conduct 2, Escape 3, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Interfering with a Peace Officer.

DUII, Failure to Maintain a Lane, Open Container, Careless Driving – Case 1702214

An officer spotted a vehicle driving in the center turn lane. As it approached his vehicle it nearly side-swiped the patrol vehicle as it passed. The officer performed a traffic stop and contacted the driver, Ray Douglas Kirchoff, age 38, of Harrisburg, and suspected impairment. After an investigation Kirchoff was charged with DUII, Failure to Maintain a Lane, Open Container, and Careless Driving.

DUII, Reckless Endangering, Reckless Driving, Violation of Designated Speed – Case 1702222

An officer heard an engine revving and then spotted the vehicle, a Lexus sedan, driving past other traffic and going over the speed limit. He performed a traffic stop and suspected impairment on the part of the driver, Scott Randall Greene, age57, of Creswell. There was a passenger in the vehicle. After an investigation, Green was charged with DUII, Reckless Endangering, Reckless Driving, and Violation of Designated Speed.

Robbery 3 – Case 1700319

At approximately 3:03 p.m., January 3, police responded to Walmart on W. 11th Avenue regarding a female subject who pushed an employee and left the store without attempting to pay for merchandise that she had taken and was observed leaving the area in a vehicle. On February 10, police contacted the suspect, Nichole Raelene Tracey, age 32, of Springfield, who was at the Lane County Jail on unrelated charges. She received an additional charge of Robbery in the Third Degree.

Assault 2/Harassment/Warrant – Case 1702162

Police responded to the Beauty Star Salon regarding a disorderly subject who made unwanted contact with a female employee, slammed doors at the business, and assaulted a male employee with an umbrella, following a verbal dispute, causing a laceration to the head of the 50-year-old victim. Police contacted the suspect Arlen Lee Arcoren II, of Fresno California, who was at the location, and arrested him for Assault in the Second Degree, Harassment and a warrant.

Robbery 3 – Case 1702152

Police responded to Dizzy Dean’s Donuts regarding a suspect who ran from the business after stealing cash from the location. Police received information that the suspect, Brandon Scott Tyson, age 25, Eugene, was subsequently followed by an employee and displayed a knife. He was eventually located in the 2100 block area of W. 13th Avenue, with the assistance of an SPD K9 unit, and contacted regarding the incident. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Robbery in the Third Degree.

UUV – Case 1702144/1702148

Police responded to information of a 2016 Ford Explorer that was taken from the driveway of a residence near Irving Road overnight. A short time later at approximately 2:05 p.m., an EPD community service officer observed the vehicle occupied by a male subject in the parking lot of Lowe’s on W. 11th Avenue. Police contacted the subject, Michael Glenn Bailey, age 34, of Eugene, and observed the vehicle in disarray with several items missing, and dirt and mud located inside and on the exterior of the vehicle. During contact with Bailey, police found information to arrest him for Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Burglary Tools and a warrant. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Criminal Trespass 2, Violation Park Rules, Warrants – Case 1702124

Officers conducted a patrol check of Washington Jefferson Park, near the skate park, after multiple complaints about illegal camping, urinating, defecating, alcohol and drug use, littering and disorderly conduct. When officers arrived, they observed more than 20 people from W. 1st Avenue, south to the railroad tracks. Officers contacted several subjects and charged the following:

  • Joe Clifford Bier, age 54, - Violation Park Rules, Exclusion Notice
  • Justin Scott Hocker, age 26, – Warrant (Municipal Court for Assault), Violation of Park Rules, Exclusion Notice
  • Yvonne Monica Davis, age 37 – Violation of Park Rules
  • Ivan Laird Warren, age 36 – Violation of Park Rules
  • Holly Lynn Saunders, age 57 – had a year-long exclusion and repeat offenses so she was issued Criminal Trespass 2 and Violation of Park Rules
  • Shane Wesley Rodrigues, age 38 - Violation of Park Rules
  • Douglas James Hanson, age 56 - Violation of Park Rules, Park Exclusion Notice
  • William Augustus Bellins, age 67 - Violation of Park Rules, Park Exclusion Notice

DUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1702123

An officer spotted a Toyota Rav 4 going west on W. 10t Avenue between Olive and Charnelton. It was driving the wrong way until it swerved back into the correct lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Donald Bruce Rivers, age 34, of Eugene. The officer suspected impairment and after an investigation charged Rivers with DUII and Reckless Driving.


02/08/17 23:26, 1960 FRANKLIN BLVD

Warrant – Case 1702120

An officer spotted a call on his screen regarding a person driving a vehicle without the owner’s permission and without returning it upon request. The details included that Andrew Todd Strome, age 32, might possibly be driving it and that he fled from an earlier traffic stop in another town. The officer spotted the vehicle at PC Market of Choice on Franklin and observed Strome in the driver’s seat. The officer performed the traffic stop and Strome quickly exited the vehicle without being told. The officer took Strome into custody after displaying, but not activating, a taser. Strome was charged with warrants.

Robbery 3 – Case 1702104

An officer was dispatched to The Duck Store for a theft in which a loss prevention officer was reported to have been bitten by the suspect, later identified as Haley Rose Hanford, age 18, of Eugene. The officer arrived and found Hanford detained in handcuffs. A security officer and another employee had tried to contact Hanford after she left with items and did not pay for them. Hanford resisted and during this bit the security officer. Hanford was charged with Robbery 3.

Robbery 1, Burglary , Assault 2 – Case 1602110

A 51-year-old woman was sleeping at a residence and thought she was alone. She was awakened by a man, later identified as Michael Lee Middleton, age 39, who assaulted her, took some of her possessions and left on a bicycle. Officers arrived and the victim declined medics, but she had injuries. Officers requested CAHOOTS response. Officers were unable to located Middleton at the time, but put out an Attempt to Locate with Probable Cause for Robbery 1, Assault 2, and Burglary 1. Middleton was located by an officer on February 8 at 10:43 p.m., at 60 Division Avenue and arrested on the warrant.

DUII, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Meth, Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended, Crash – Case 1702071

An officer was sent to a crash in which a sedan had crashed into a tree on westbound Beltline, near Gilham and Norkenzie. The vehicle was partially in the roadway on Beltline, with the vehicle’s nose in the ditch. There was a purse nearby that was later found to belong to the drive and that contained heroin and methamphetamine. The driver, Jennifer Ann Rosini, age 48, of Springfield, was contacted at the hospital and charged with DUII, Reckless Driving, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, and Driving While Suspended.

Criminal Trespass 2, Warrant – Case 1702077

An officer was dispatched to Skinner Butte Park regarding illegal dumping. Upon arrival, he found a tent and contacted the trespasser, Travis James Tibbet, age 37. Tibbet had warrants for Failure to Appear Theft 2, and Failure to Appear Theft 3. He also had some cards and ID belonging to other people. He was taken into custody on the warrants and also charged with Criminal Trespass 2.

Interfere with Public Transport – Case 1702105

An officer was sent to LTD Station regarding a trespasser who was handcuffed. It was reported that Wilhelm Rosa-Rivera, age 55, of Springfield, had been trespassed from all LTD properties after numerous warnings. He had been contacted and cited earlier in the day for trespassing at an LTD property. He was spotted exiting a bus and contacted by LTD security. He resisted the security officer’s arrest. Rosa-Rivera was charged with Interfering with Public Transportation.

Assault, Warrant – Case 1702075

An officer was dispatched to Eugene Municipal Court regarding an assault. Jacob Scott Rassmussen, age 44, and another man, age 54, had a verbal dispute that escalated. Rassmussen is reported to have threatened to stab the victim and then he threw a phone at the victim’s face, striking him. Rassmussen was taken into custody on a warrant and also charged with Assault.

Possession of Meth, Disorderly Conduct, Warrant – Case 1702036

An officer was sent to Lane Transit District (LTD) bus stop on 2nd and Chambers, regarding a disorderly subject who was reported to be threatening to stab someone. The bus driver had to stop and get the man off the bus as he was scaring other patrons. Upon arrived, the officer saw the man later identified as Brandon Lee Eisele, age 44, of Eugene, standing behind a bike yelling at LTD security staff. When the officer contacted Eisele, Eisele began to yell at him, and then threw a bottle on the ground in the officer’s direction and began to approach him. Another officer assisted in taking Eisele into custody as he was continuing to yell. Eisele was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and he had a warrant. He was taken into custody on the warrant and also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Disorderly Conduct.

Unlawful Entry Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespass, Non-criminal Hold – Case 1702039

An officer was dispatched to the Eugene Public Library for a report of a trespasser attempting to enter the building through the emergency exit after leaving through that exit and setting off an alarm. When the officer arrived, he saw a library security officer holding the door to prevent the man from entering. The officer contacted the man, age 28, and found that he was having a mental health crisis, but had attempted to get into a vehicle with a woman and two small children who didn’t know him. The father was in the parking area and saw this and yelled at the man and he left. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a possible mental health issue.

Officers were called to Lane Community College downtown regarding an unknown man who was entering class rooms. Upon arrival, the officers were directed to the third floor where the man, Paul Joseph Anghilante, age 48 was located. He had been reported to have also trespassed earlier at the Family Foot Clinic while it was closed and refused to leave. Anghilante was charged with two counts of Criminal Trespass.

Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief 2 – Case 1701990

Two officers were sent to a traffic hazard condition at I-105 and Coburg Road. They had multiple reports of a man wearing all black jumping out into traffic in front of cars and throwing rocks and dirt. Officers responded and located the man and a foot pursuit ensured. He was taken into custody and refused to provide his name, but officers obtained it when he was booked into Jail as Justin James Offill, age 37. Offill was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief 2.

DUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1701872

An officer noticed that a Jeep Cherokee ran a red light and called for assistance making the traffic stop when she was dispatched to another call. Another officer observed that the vehicle appeared to nearly rear-end her patrol vehicle as she was making a turn, then left its lane of travel and drove in a bus turnout. The vehicle accelerated and the officer caught up as the vehicle made a series of violations at high speed in the pouring rain with little visibility. The officer was able to stop the driver, identified as James Alan Shoemaker, age 28, of Eugene. The officer suspected Shoemaker was impaired and after an investigation he was charged with DUII and Reckless Driving.

An officer observed a vehicle weaving in its lane, as it turned onto Prairie Road, it crossed over the white line and the officer stopped it. He contacted the driver, William Alexander Romero-Canales, age 20, of Eugene, and suspected intoxication. After an investigation, Romero-Canales was charged with DUII and Minor in Possession of Liquor.

An officer observed a vehicle turn east onto W. 6th Avenue, driving the wrong way. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the river, Brendan Nicholas Harris, age 21, of Springfield. The officer suspected impairment and after an investigation Harris was charged with DUII, and Failure to Obey One Way Designation.

Physical Harassment – Case 1701932

An officer was dispatched for a person who was punching people. He observed a man wearing a hoodie swinging wildly at people in the street, and there was a lot of yelling. The man was attempting to leave the area and other people were flagging the officer down. As the officer approached the man, he got off his bike and was compliant. He was identified as Alan Salsman, age 27 of Blue River, Oregon. The 33-year-old male victim had been with friends drinking in the area and got into a verbal disagreement with another group. Some women began yelling at each other, and Salsman, who was unrelated to the groups, approached and punched the victim in the face multiple times. The victim was trying to protect himself. Salsman was charged with Physical Harassment.

An officer was sent to a call about a disorderly man with a knife. The officer arrived and found that Jeremy Alga Hawkins, age 34, of Eugene, had been yelling and swearing from the balcony outside his apartment. One person had been able to calm Hawkins down before police arrived and took the knives from him. Hawkins, who appeared intoxicated, had gotten into an altercation with another man at the complex. They were arguing and it turned physical, with Hawkins being hit by the other man. Hawkins was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Prohibited Noise.

Officers were sent to report of a disorderly patron inside the lobby of the Motel 6. A man, identified as Geovoni Pietro Lamoni, age 45, of Springfield, was reported to be screaming at employees in the office of the Motel 6, threatening to retrieve some type of unspecified weapon and kill the employees, and making furitive movements toward his waistband. Officers contacted Lamoni and arrested him for Disorderly Conduct and Menacing.

Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1701897

Officers were on patrol near the Eugene Public Library when they saw several hundred people standing outside the library on the sidewalk. A Eugene Springfield Fire Truck arrived in emergency mode. An unknown person was reported to have pulled the fire alarm inside the library and it was evacuated. An hour later, the two officers were called to the library regarding a disorderly man refusing to leave the property. The man, Hector Vincent Melero, age 40, was contacted as he was headed down the elevator. Melero was identified as having earlier pulled the fire alarm. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass 2.

An officer was sent to 2500 block kof Souza Court aftr a motor vehicle crash and hit and run. A woman, later identified as Victoria Evelyn Callotta, age 22, of Veneta, had crashed her vehicle into a parked car owned by a 51-year-old male resident in the area and failed to leave information. Officers found the suspect vehicle with the airbag deployed. While officers were at the scene, two females, one matching the description of Callotta, drove by the scene and failed to stop when signaled to by an officer with a flashlight. A traffic stop was performed and the officer suspected impairment. After an investigation, Callotta was charged with DUII, Hit and Run, and Reckless Driving.

DUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1701871

A truck left an establishment and fail to signal a turn from W. 10th place, left onto Tyinn Street. It failed to signal another turn and the officer observed it drift over the center line a couple of time and the officer pulled it over. He contacted the driver, Scott Andrew Moore, age 42, of Albany, and suspected impairment. After an investigation, Moore was charged with DUII and Reckless Driving.

Harassment, Interfering with a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct – Case 17-1773

Police were dispatched to a fight near E. 12th Avenue and Patterson Alley. It was reported four people were in a fight and one person was screaming for water. The man, later identified as Mitchell John Powers, age 20, of Eugene, was intoxicated and had dumped a residential trash can and was confronted by the home owner. Powers grabbed the 34-year-old female resident by the shoulder and slapped her across the face. Powers was subsequently pepper sprayed by the female. An officer arrived on scene and admonished Powers to stop, but he continued running. Powers fled on foot northbound through the alley across E. 11th. A taser display and admonishment convinced Powers to stop and he was taken into custody without further incident, and lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Interfering with Police, and Harassment.

Criminal Trespass – Case 1701764

Officers were sent to the Eugene Mission regarding a disorderly trespasser, later identified as Hector Vincent Melero, age 40, who was trying to light game pieces on fire. Staff was able to prevent the fire from starting and told Melero to leave. Melero refused and got on the floor. Officers arrived and told him he had to leave, but he refused and indicated officers would have to drag him out. An officer attempted to handcuff him and he resisted, but was ultimately taken into custody. He had to be carried out of the facility. He was charged with Criminal Trespass.

Police were called after a man, later identified as Greg Alan Kuntz, II, age 31, sprayed an unknown substance on another man, age 29, who was sitting with his girlfriend near a bike rack at W. Broadway and Olive. Kuntz was arrested for Harassment.

Warrant – Case 1701759

An officer was dispatched to report of suspicious conditions near some apartments. A male and female were observed jumping over a fence and into the backyard of a residence nearby. An officer arrived and found Kimberly Jean Patterson, age 57, lying on the ground in a shed at the residence. Patterson had a warrant out of Eugene Municipal Court for Failure to Appear Criminal Trespass II. She was taken into custody on the warrant.

Criminal Trespass, Warrant – Case 1701727

Officers patrolling in the area found a tent-like shelter at the northwest corner of 11th Avenue and Lincoln Street. They contacted the person inside, Michael Wayne Melendy, age 26. They found he had a warrant, and there was a trespass letter on file for the location. Melendy was taken into custody on the warrant and charged with Criminal Trespass 2.

Harassment – Case 1701705

An officer was dispatched to the Albertson`s gas station located at 4730 Royal Avenue for a report of a dispute between the gas attendant and a customer, later identified as Justin Troy Strohbin, age 21, of Eugene. It was reported Strohbin became angry after being provided gas and there was an argument in which Strohbin followed the employee, age 26, back to the store and then pushed him. Strohbin then left and walked away. The officer contacted Strohbin at home and after an investigation Strohbin was charged with Harassment.

Hit and Run – Case 1701187

An officer was sent to investigate a crash in which a black 2000 Toyota SR5 hit a 2002 Subaru Forrester at W. 27th Avenue and Jefferson and left without exchanging information. The 48-year-old male victim was able to get a license plate number. Officers followed up to investigate and located the suspect driver, Jeremy Raymond Arthur Liner, age 18, of EugeneHe was charged with Hit and Run.

Resisting Arrest, Interfering with a Police Officer, and Trespass 2 – Case 1701702

An officer contacted Marquel Cary at the location, which had a trespass letter on file and was marked no trespassing. The officer asked Cary for his name and he lunged at the officer, who ordered him to sit down. Cary sat initially and then jumped up and ran off. The officer pursued him on foot and caught Cary at 1166 Oak. Cary continued resisting and the officer had to request additional units to hellp. Another officer arrived and Cary continued to resist. A third officer arrived and Cary was taken into custody and charged with Resisting Arrest, Interfering with a Police Officer, and Trespass 2.

Theft 1, Warrant – Case 1701666

Brad’s Car Tunes reported a suspect came into the store to shop and then left without paying for two expensive sound equipment items. An employee ran after the suspect, later identified as Jason Robert Loe, age 32, of Eugene. The suspect left in a Ford F-250 that had a female passenger, and her purse fell out of the vehicle. The vehicle was spotted by a Brad’s employee at a local wrecking yard. Officers responded and found it in the parking lot and contacted the driver, Loe. The items were recovered and provided back to Brad’s. Loe was arrested for Theft 1 and a Parole Violation. ‘

Robbery 3 – Case 1701687

Police were called to Winco for reports of loss prevention officers struggling with a shoplifting suspect, later identified as Jedi Marx Asher, age 24. Asher was reported to be still not in handcuffs and continuing to fight. When officers arrived, four Winco employees had Asher held down and only one of his hands was handcuffed and he was still resisting. Asher was advised he would be tased if he did not comply. He complied and there was no taser activation. He was charged with Robbery 3.

Criminal Trespass II (X5) Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon – Case 1701690

A woman reported a man she didn’t know was in her backyard trespassing. She had confronted him and he broke through fence boards to escape. Another male resident in the area reported the suspect, later identified as Sonny Joe Canterbury, age 44, of Springfield, had run into his back yard and when confronted, Canterbury grabbed a tree branch and tried to climb over the fence, but instead fell and hit the ground. A total of five residents reported Canterbury had trespassed onto their property and one reported Canterbury had urinated in public in their yard. Officers arrived and K9 unit from Springfield was requested for a search. Canterbury was located with the help of the K9 hiding along a fence line in the 2300 block of Sony Loop and taken into custody. He was in possession of a dagger-type knife. Canterbury was charged with five counts of Criminal Trespass 2, Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

DUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1701696

An older model Chevy Blazer was reported to be driving erratically. An officer located it and observed it fail to maintain its lane and nearly crash when making a turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver, later identified as Ronald Renee Puso, age 43, of Eugene, initially failed to yield and when he did, he began to reverse toward the officer’s patrol vehicle. Puso got out of his vehicle and was slow to respond to the officer’s commands. Once Puso was contacted, the officer suspected impairment. After an investigation, Puso was charged with DUII and Reckless Driving.

Interfering With A Police Officer

Police responded to a dispute in the area between a male and female subject and contacted both of the involved. During contact with the male subject Jonathan Duffy Peterson, age 57, he became uncooperative during the investigation, and disregarded direction from the officer. He was arrested for Interfering With A Police Officer and was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charge.

Criminal Trespass 1 – Case 1701630

Police responded to the area regarding a male subject who was observed inside the home when the residents returned to the location. Police received information that the described suspect Paul Joseph Anghilante, age 48, of Eugene, left the residence on foot. He was located and contacted by officers in the 400 block area of Stoneybrook and arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree.

Burglary 2 – Case 1612264

On July 25, 2016, police responded to a report of a burglary at the Studio One Café on E. 19th Avenue and received information that the suspect had climbed through a window and stole cash from the location. After further investigation, police identified the suspect as Everett John Hallbach, age 31, of Eugene, and he was located on January 31 in the 500 block area of Blair Boulevard. During contact with Hallbach, police found information to arrest him for Burglary in the Second Degree, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamines and Theft in the Second Degree.

Assault Public Safety Officer/Resisting Arrest/Assault 4 – Case 1701619

Police responded to the Stop and Shop convenience store on West 18th Avenue regarding a male subject who walked behind the counter and repeatedly hit the female employee in the face. Police located the suspect Brian Edward Springer, age 50, in the 1800 block area of Cleveland Street. The officers attempted to contact Springer and he aggressively turned toward the officers after being given direction to stop, lunged at an officer and subsequently struck the other officer in the face as they attempted to detain him. He continued to struggle and yell at the officers during the arrest and was eventually detained and transported to the Lane County Jail for Resisting Arrest, Assault Public Safety Officer and Assault in the Fourth Degree.
