Eugene Police are seeking the public’s help to find an endangered elderly man who has been missing since about noon today.

Walter Carlson, 83, walked away from his residence at Southtowne Living Center, 360 W. 28th, this afternoon and hasn’t been located since. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, of medium build, with grey hair and last seen wearing a light colored top and golden yellow sweatpants. He suffers from severe dementia, requires medical supervision, and is easily confused. With cold weather Eugene has been having, police are concerned that Mr. Carlson may be unable to find his way home before dark, when temperatures will drop.

He responds to “Walter,” “Walt,” or “Coach.”

Lane County Search and Rescue has been called to assist in a search for Mr. Carlson.

Anyone who has seen Mr. Carlson is asked to call 9-1-1.
