A homeowner arrived home in the 1500 block of Jefferson at around 12:22 p.m. today to interrupt a burglary in progress. He confronted the suspect, who ran.
The homeowner kept ‘eyes on’ the suspect for a time and updated police, who responded, and began a search. A K-9 team was called to the area. After a search went on for about an hour, the tenacious K-9 unit alerted on Jeremy Lee Lauriguet, age 33, three blocks away consuming alcohol. He was stopped and then taken into custody after he was determined to be the suspect. He was charged with Burglary in the First Degree, Robbery in the Third Degree, Theft in the Third Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), and two warrants (Parole Violations) for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
He has been lodged in the Lane County Jail.
