[ARCHIVED] EPD Responds to Significant Property Crime Hot Spot in west Eugene area

Prediction and response are the keys to Eugene Police’s data-led policing strategy. EPD’s weekly crime stats show a significant property crime spike in the west Eugene neighborhood; specifically Barger-Roosevelt, N. Terry-Hwy. 99N.

In the last four weeks in this area, there have been 20 burglaries, 12 car break-ins and four stolen vehicles. In several of the residential burglaries, the suspect gained entry by breaking sliding glass doors or other doors with glass panels, using a brick or rock.

In an effort to curb this, EPD is reaching out through Crime Prevention Teams and increased patrols.
