On September 6, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant in the 100 Block of Lawrence Street. SCU gained information that Eugene resident, Blake Wesley Ward, age 34, was in transit from Portland with heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. Further intelligence suggested Ward was in possession of at least one firearm. Due to his convicted felon status, he is precluded from owning or possessing any firearms.
SCU conducted an interdiction stop as Ward was about one block from his house, and he was taken into custody without incident. SCU conducted a search of Ward's vehicle and apartment. Commercial delivery amounts of heroin over one ounce, methamphetamine over one-half pound, and fentanyl (approximately 500 counterfeit oxy 30 blue pills) were located in the vehicle and apartment. A stolen firearm was located inside of the bedroom Ward used.
Ward was charged with the following crimes: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Theft in the First Degree Firearm, Possession/Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Schedule 2, Possession Heroin Commercial Offense, Possession Methamphetamine Commercial Offense. Case 23-13285
