[ARCHIVED] Eclipse Events at the Library

Illustration of a solar eclipse

On Saturday, October 14, Eugene will be one of the only places on earth to view an annular solar eclipse on its path across North, Central and South America. If skies are clear locally, a partial eclipse will become visible at 8:06 a.m., the greatest effect will appear from 9:16-9:20 a.m., and the view will return to normal at 10:39 a.m.

Learn more about this eclipse at NASA's website and be sure to check the eclipse viewing safety precautions. Inexpensive protective glasses are widely available at stores and online.
