At 10:52 a.m., a passerby observed a person face down in the Willamette River near Knickerbocker Bridge and called 911. Eugene Police, Eugene Springfield Fire, and Lane County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue responded.
ESF recovered the body, an adult male who was determined to be deceased. The Medical Examiner was called and responded to the scene and will retain jurisdiction of the body. An investigation into the circumstances of the person’s death is underway.
