The annual exhibition celebrates local talent in Eugene’s visual arts community

The Mayor’s Art Show is returning for 2023, and local artists who live or work in Eugene or have previously presented in town may submit their work for entry into the exhibit beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, May 31.

The Mayor's Art Show is part of a larger celebration of contemporary visual art, artists and the City’s public spaces. The show recognizes the accomplishments of artists who are committed to enriching their communities by cultivating diversity and equity through visual arts. New for this year, the exhibit is moving to the fall season. Beginning Oct. 6, the month-long show will be presented both online and in-person at a gallery space in the Downtown Library.

Artists may submit 2D, 3D and digital works between May 31 and July 12. A panel of artists and art professionals will review all submissions and notify applicants of their acceptance status by the end of July. During the exhibition, awards will be granted based on consideration of the following criteria: conceptual strength, artistic merit, innovation, craftsmanship and materials. Award categories include Mayor’s Choice, Juror’s Choice, Curator’s Choice and People’s Choice.
