At 6:03 p.m. on April 27, a Eugene Police Traffic Safety Unit officer initiated a traffic stop of a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist fled southbound on Ferry Street Bridge. The officer did not pursue. The motorcyclist subsequently was involved in a crash on Ferry Street Bridge (10002-block of Coburg Road) and was reported to be under a vehicle. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
Both northbound and southbound lanes on Ferry Street Bridge are closed for an unknown amount of time.
EPD’s Major Collision Investigation team is investigating the crash.
