All locations of Eugene Public Library will be closed on Thursday, May 18 for a staff development day.
The closure will provide training and planning opportunities that are not possible during regular operations. Eugene Public Library is open seven days a week across three locations, a schedule which does not allow the entire staff to meet together in person.
"We never like to close our doors for even a day. But as library services evolve and Eugene's needs change as well, it's crucial every once in awhile for our whole team to get together to learn, connect across workgroups, and strategize to best serve our community," says Library Director Will O'Hearn.
