[ARCHIVED] Move EUG Community Planning

Move EUG, shaping our sustainable transportation future

Move EUG is a community planning project led by the City’s Transportation Planning Team to identify and prioritize walking, biking, and safety programs and infrastructure projects in Eugene. The planning team will be listening to people throughout the Eugene community about their transportation needs during Spring 2023. Input received from the community will help guide the city in our work to make walking, biking, rolling, and taking the bus more accessible and enjoyable in addition to making all ways of traveling safer for everyone in Eugene.

How can the community be involved?

We want to hear about all experiences while traveling in Eugene! Where do people feel comfortable? What areas or movements feel unsafe? What kinds of infrastructure and programs would encourage more walking and biking?

Transportation Planning will be hosting a Move EUG Open House on April 20th from 4:30pm – 7:00pm at the Farmers Market Pavilion (85 E 8th Ave). Community members can share their ideas for walking, biking, and safety projects with transportation planners, explore different types of infrastructure, offer ideas for programs to increase walking and biking, and weigh in on our current list of walk and bike projects.

For those who can’t attend the April open house, the Move EUG Engage Eugene page provides online tools to share infrastructure ideas on an interactive map; take a survey about walking, biking, and safety in Eugene; and learn about the Move EUG timeline, including when and where more in-person events will be held.

Why should the community be involved?

The input we receive during Move EUG will specifically impact which infrastructure projects will be built with funds from the 2025-2029 Street Repair Bond, inform an update to the walking and biking project list in the Eugene 2025 Transportation System Plan, and help develop a list of programmatic ideas to encourage more trips by walking, bicycling, and taking the bus.
