[ARCHIVED] E-Scooter Launch

Young person riding electric scooter

The City of Eugene and Cascadia Mobility are excited to announce the launch of our new Electric Scooter Pilot Program! Superpedestrian was selected as the new shared e-scooter provider for the City of Eugene, and is rolling out its brightly-colored silver and yellow e-scooters on Friday, March 31st. The new e-scooter system will prioritize safety and accessibility, ramping up to a full fleet of 600 across the city.

The new service will include seated e-scooters that are more accessible to older riders and people with disabilities, and service on the University of Oregon campus. Superpedestrian scooters will be operated by Cascadia Mobility, the local nonprofit operator of the PeaceHealth Rides bikeshare system.

The City of Eugene Transportation Planning Team will be evaluating the e-scooter program over the next year to ensure it is meeting City goals and serving the community. The Superpedestrian e-scooter fleet has many features in place to make them safe and pleasant, like no parking with 200ft of the waterways, tip-over detection, proper parking requirements, GPS enforced slow-speed-zones and no-ride-zones, and more.

Join us for the E-Scooter Launch Party on Friday, March 31st from 11am – 1pm at EWEB’s River Edge Public Plaza at the Fountains (500 E 4th Ave) for discounted test rides, safety demonstrations, and more!
