At 11:24 this morning a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero going southbound on river road crossed into the northbound lanes, went up over a curb and hit the northwest corner of an apartment building at 1649 River Road.
The driver, Joseph Arthur Desseault, age 26, of Eugene, who may have fallen asleep at the wheel, was transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle was equipped with air bags, which deployed.
One of the apartment units where the crash occurred was occupied, but no one was injured.
Desseault was cited for Reckless Driving. ###
