[ARCHIVED] Detective reunites stolen pup with family

Detective Johns hands Ladybug to a happy child

Today a family was happily reunited with their stolen dog, Ladybug. Detective Aaron Johns handed the pug over to the family this afternoon after wrapping up an investigation that began on March 24, 2022.

The family reported their pug, Ladybug, had been stolen while they were shopping at a store on W. 18th Avenue. A family member had secured Ladybug to a fence near the building so they could go inside. When they were finished shopping, they came out to find Ladybug gone and believed the dog stolen. They put out lost dog posts online and contacted local shelters without success.
On May 12, Detective Johns followed up on a tip regarding the possible sighting of Ladybug and located the pup. He has developed probable cause to arrest a suspect for the theft, but in the meantime the pup has thankly been returned to its owner.
