[ARCHIVED] Murals on Library Cards

Library cards featuring 20x21EUG mural art

You can now carry public art in your pocket with new Eugene Public Library cards featuring works from the 20x21EUG Mural Project.  New cardholders can choose from three new mural designs as well as the library's flagship logo-and-stars card. Existing cardholders who prefer a mural card can trade their old card for a new one for free through the summer.

The colorful new mural card designs showcase:

  • Beau Stanton's giant iconic work on the McDonald Theatre's west wall, overlooking LTD’s Downtown Station and facing the Downtown Library at 10th Avenue and Olive Street.
  • Kari Johnson's tribute to growing food and community on the wall of Food for Lane County's Dining Room at 270 West 8th St.
  • Steven Lopez' salute to bees and their environmental importance on the wall of Wildcraft Cider Works at 254 Lincoln St.

Eugene Public Library cards are free of charge to everyone who lives in the City of Eugene. Students enrolled in Eugene School District 4J and Bethel School District are also eligible for free library cards, regardless of address. Learn about getting a library card.

The 20x21 EUG Mural Project was an initiative of the City of Eugene Cultural Services Public Art program. In 2017, 20x21 set a goal to create 20 or more world-class murals in Eugene before the 2021 World Athletics Championships, which were postponed until July 2022.
