At 2:37 p.m., Eugene Police received report of a student who was possibly armed with a gun in the waistband and attending class at Willamette High School. Eugene Police responded and worked with the school on entering the school to identify the student and to ensure other nearby classrooms were cleared and the school protected during contact.

Police were able to make contact with the student, who was detained without incident. The student was detained for a brief time so officers could safely conducting an investigation into the circumstances noted in the call. There was no firearm located on the student and there is no ongoing threat at the school at this time.

The student was ultimately arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct in the First Degree. Due to the student’s juvenile status we can not release identity.
