At 6:23 p.m. on January 19, Eugene Police patrol officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Adelman for an unknown problem. Officers located an injured woman, age 65. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers canvassed the area and located Roberto Cajiva-Maldonado, age 70, of Eugene in a nearby neighborhood. He was ultimately arrested for Attempted Murder and lodged at the Lane County Jail. The victim and suspect were known to one another. There is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood or community. The case is under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
