[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested After Smashing Windows of Two Locations and Taking Items

At 9:56 p.m. on January 3, a man identified as Derek Edmond Heiner, age 31, of Eugene, who had previously been trespassed from EWEB, 500 E. 4th Avenue returned and is reported to have shattered two glass doors, gotten inside and stolen some plants. He left as security arrived and returned several hours later and was hostile with security. Eugene Police officers also found he was a suspect in a burglary at 10:25 p.m., Westminster Presbyterian Church, 777 Coburg Road. A window was broken out and items stolen. Heiner was lodged at the Lane County Jail for two counts of Burglary in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree. Cases 21-00147 and 21-00148.
