On December 22, around 9:40 p.m., Sergeant Rob Griesel and K9 Kuii, responded to assist the Street Crimes Unit after the SCU officer attempted contact with a gold 1999 Chevy Tahoe and the suspect Justin Ray Dyson, age 40, of Eugene, fled from the vehicle on foot. Sergeant Griesel and K9 Kuii were able to locate and apprehend Dyson a short time later near the east end of Skinner Butte Park. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Delivery of Heroin, Delivery of Methamphetamines, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamines, and Elude (Misdemeanor). On December 22, at 3:44 a.m., police responded to the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, regarding a possible unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and a man who was observed running from the location toward the area of Autzen Stadium. Officer Owen Griffith and K9 Cwyk assisted in helping to locate the suspect, Justin Todd Johnson, age 33, of Eugene. He was contacted less than an hour later and arrested for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Case 20-20920.
On December 22, at 12:50 a.m., a police officer patrolling the area of Donald Street attempted to contact a male subject on bicycle, after the officer observed the bicycle to not have lighting equipment. The suspect, Jeffrey Lee Moorman, age 41, of Springfield, increased his speed and pedaled away from the officer toward Willamette Street from 33rd Avenue, and into a wooded area. Officer Travis Palki and K9 Jax responded to the location, and Moorman was eventually located by police on the roof of a residence on the 3400 block of Donald Street. Following contact with Moorman, he was arrested by police for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Interfering With Police Officer. Case 20-20919
