On December 17 at 11:06 p.m., a Street Crimes Unit officer located a stolen jeep in a motel parking lot in the 300 block of E. Broadway. SCU worked to recover the vehicle and during this obtained information that the occupants of the jeep had gone into a motel room. Officers were given permission to enter the room and found it littered with syringes and knives. The SCU officer found that one of the occupants, Max Ernest Slavit, age 21, was in possession of the Jeep’s key and had stolen it.
When officers processed the Jeep they located evidence of other call clouting activities such as broken glass and a tool used to break windows.
Note: According to Property Crimes Unit detectives, Slavit was in possession of a green Pivot bicycle at some point, and there is reason to believe it was stolen, but unreported. Detectives reached out to agencies statewide to see if any other agencies had reported it stolen without success. If anyone had a green Pivot bike stolen between mid-August to mid-October, please contact Detective Chris White, 541.682.5376
