Accidental Shooting Investigated - Felon in Possession of Firearm

 

On December 13 at 5:36 p.m. Eugene Police officers were dispatched to a local hospital to investigate an incident of a man accidently shooting himself. Initially the man reported he had accidentally shot himself in the hand after a person he did not know allowed him to shoot a firearm out in a rural area. Officers conducted an extensive investigation and later determined Vincent Alexander Palumbo, age 45, had shot himself in his Eugene apartment while cleaning his gun. 

 

Palumbo is a convicted felon and was cited in lieu of custody for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
