Message from Egan Warming Center

This has been a very complicated season so far. Each time we have activated, we have had a difficult time finding the volunteers we need to operate our sites. We certainly understand why many of you need to sit out this winter. The reality is that our crews are thin and with the holidays upon us, we expect even smaller numbers. Because we need to always operate our sites safely, we have made the difficult decision to consider not being able to open this week. We are asking all of you who are able to help to sign up by 6 p.m. Monday evening. At this point, we will assess our schedules and decide if we will have sufficient crews.

If we have gaps in our schedules at this point, we will have no choice but to not open some or all of our locations.  This is something we have not had to do before, but these are unique times. The safety or our guests and our volunteers is extremely important to us.
