Information about enforcement of statewide freeze order

two-week-freeze graphic

EPD has been following CDC, Oregon State governor, and Oregon Health Authority Guidelines throughout the pandemic and have continued to update our staff with the latest advice. Governor Brown’s latest freeze directive is enforceable.
But here is what else you need to know: EPD will advise staff to ask for voluntary compliance and address issues with an educational approach where possible. The goal would be to attempt to gain compliance without taking enforcement action. Usually this is effective. If that is not effective, a citation can be issued with permission from a supervisor, or as the very last resort, taking a person into custody.
EPD and the City of Eugene will continue to amplify the State’s safety guidelines. Wearing our face coverings, along with other measures, like maintaining physical distancing, washing our hands, staying home when sick all work together to slow the spread of COVID-19.
People have asked how to report violations of the statewide two-week freeze Executive Order. Here is that information:

Wondering where to report violations of the statewide two-week freeze Executive Order?

  • Business/workplace violations: Please report these to Oregon OSHA.
  • Restaurant/Bars: Please report these violations to OSHA or OLCC.
  • Social gatherings: Call the EPD non-emergency line at 541-682-5111.

Wearing our face coverings, along with other measures, like maintaining physical distancing, washing our hands, staying home when sick , and limiting  gathering size all work together to slow the spread of COVID-19.
