The City of Eugene sought submissions from people ages 14-30 living in Lane County for Stop the Spread, a community COVID-19 Messaging Contest geared toward young adults. Stop the Spread encouraged anyone ages 14-30 to submit visual (graphic design or illustrative) or video content (no longer than 30-seconds) in English or Spanish that emphasizes to their peers the importance of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Over 60 entries were submitted to the contest in a variety of categories, and we need your help deciding the winners!
From Friday, November 13 through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, public voting will take place on the Engage Eugene website for all English entries, and on the La E-Kiss Facebook page for all Spanish entries. Please note you need to register as a member of Engage Eugene before voting on your favorite entries.
“Now is the time to cast your votes for the Stop the Spread messaging campaign. Together, we can curb the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to promote the importance of wearing a face covering, watching your distance, washing your hands, and waiting it out. We want to know which of the creative entries we received YOU like best!” says Lindsay Selser, Public Information Officer with the City of Eugene.
Judging and Prizes
A panel of judges made up of a variety of young adults, public information specialists, and public health experts will pick the winner in each of the seven categories. Each winner will receive a $500 prize. The public will have an opportunity to “like” their favorites between Nov. 13-17. The public vote will be weighed at 30% of the final criteria. Winners will be announced on Friday, November 20.
