[ARCHIVED] Crisis Negotiation Assists In Arrest Following Information of Stolen Property

CNT

On October 26, around 1:30 p.m., police responded to a camp under Beltline at Roosevelt Boulevard regarding information of stolen property. When officers arrived, they observed a large amount of property and a male subject, Jason Bild, age 48, of Eugene, who was recognized to have a warrant for arrest, and was holding a knife and became aggressive when officers approached. Due to concern for the well-being of Bild, the officers remained at a distance and summoned Crisis Negotiation Team to the scene, along with tactical assets from on-duty patrol officers. After nearly an hour, police were able to safely take Bild into custody on a warrant. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation and will be lodged at the Lane County Jail on the warrant.
