[ARCHIVED] Local Responders Advise of Adverse Street-drug Reactions

Eugene Police Headquarters Sign

Over the past couple days, Eugene Springfield Fire EMS and Eugene Police have noted individuals having more severe reactions to a street drug of unknown origin, but possibly methamphetamine. ESF battalion chiefs working yesterday reported that behavior is more erratic than usual and there is more of it.

The behavior is described as erratic, confused, unpredictable and sometimes with violent outbursts. The individuals may have profuse sweating, elevated vital signs, and make unusual verbal statements. Whichever signs are present, this person may be at risk of harm to self or others, and they merit a call to 9-1-1 for assistance from our first responders.
