[ARCHIVED] CENTRAL LANE 911 ADVISORY

Central Lane 911 has been receiving many calls regarding the smoke in the Eugene and surrounding region. There is a lot of wildland smoke from Oregon and Washington and it has blown into our area. You may even see some ash as there have been high winds from the east. This is expected to last for several days.

...

Please do not call 911 about the smoke unless you see a specific source of a fire or smoke.

 What you can do:

 1.  Stay indoors and keep windows and doors shut
 2.  Do not exercise outdoors
 3.  Be prepared for power loss by having flashlights, headlamps and candles available
 4.  If you have heart or lung disease or asthma, follow your healthcare provider’s advice

Please only call 911 about the smoke if you see smoke or fire coming from a specific source.
