We might be partial to Amazon Pool and the River House Outdoor Center but it appears as if a lot of you are, too.
In The Register-Guard’s annual Reader’s Choice awards, both facilities earned top 2 spots in their categories. Amazon Pool was voted one of the area’s best swim centers by local readers, and the River House was voted one of Eugene-Springfield’s best outdoor recreation providers.
Even in a summer when not as many people were able to enjoy Amazon’s wonderful outdoor pool space, people know the facility is a great spot to lap swim, take swim lessons and jump off the diving platform on a hot day. We are still offering limited lap swimming at Amazon this fall, you can find all of our aquatics offerings here.
The River House also had to scale back its normally robust offerings this summer and fall. We still were able to do some youth camps and kayaking trips, as well as our usual First Saturday Park Walks, but some of the farther afield trips into the national forests outside of Eugene had to be put on hold. The Outdoor Program at the River House is dedicated to the ultimate outdoor experience and typically offers a wide range of activities such as snowboarding, skiing, kayaking, rafting, sailing, hiking, rock climbing, tree climbing and more. The Outdoor Program is here to help you take advantage of all Eugene and Oregon have to offer.
