[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested at Home - Furnishing to Minor Females

Police Patrol Vehicle

On September 1 at 11:50 p.m., two officers responded to a residence in the 3900 block of Bell to look for a recently reported runaway juvenile female. The officers approached the residence and heard a scream from a female voice. The officers observed three juvenile females inside fleeing toward the back door. The resident of the home, Ely Macias, age 31, opened the front door. Because of the scream, officers were concerned someone inside might have been injured and in need of help or medical attention, so they went inside. It was found the juvenile female screamed because they had been watching a horror show. The officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana and saw some marijuana, along with paraphernalia. There was also alcohol. There was a 17-year-old female inside on a couch.

Another officer arrived to help search for anyone injured. They located the three juvenile females (two age 14 and one age 13) hiding behind a shed.

After an investigation, Macias was arrested on charges of three counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Marijuana Item and Providing Liquor to a Person Under 21. Officers were able to contact the parents for all three juvenile females and they were reunited with their families.
