Stories, songs, rhymes, puppets, and more - live! Storytime helps little ones develop the language skills they’ll need when they’re learning to read. Plus it’s a lovely way to play together. No Facebook account or login is needed. Join us live, or later, or over and over here!

Baby Bags

All library locations: starting Monday, March 15, while supplies last

Do you have a child up to two years old at home? Drop by any location to pick up a free bag with a colorful bilingual board book, plush puppet, shaker egg, and information, all to help babies develop crucial early literacy skills in fun, easy ways. As the slogan says, "babies need words every day: talk, read, sing, play!"


Oregon's Dino-Story

All library locations: pick up activity kits starting Monday, March 15, while supplies last; plus online program

Kids: take an adventure into Oregon's past - including its dinosaurs! Pick up an activity kit, then watch this entertaining video anytime for a virtual visit to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Pigeon Party! Live Online

Celebrate the beloved character Pigeon from Mo Willems' books with a live online party featuring special stories, songs, and more. No Facebook account or login is needed. Mystery at the Carnival

Saturday, March 27 in the park at Sheldon Community Center

Sign up  to solve the Mystery at the Carnival at Sheldon Community Center, outdoors rain or shine. Play classic carnival games and meet interesting characters while figuring out what's happened to Madame Siekick's missing crystal ball. Eugene Public Library will be on site to give away a free book to each child and teen. Live Online: Career Exploration Workshop

Join Lane County Workforce Services to explore ways to identify your skills and interests while researching possible career choices.  Career exploration will provide you access to assessments based on preference and gained experiences.  In addition, we will review the labor market and discover jobs in growing local industries.

Live Online: Big Star Band Talk

Join us for a musical gathering to listen to the songs and learn about the influential history of the band Big Star with Craig Leve of KWVA’s “Snap, Crackle, Pop” show and Greg Sutherland from House of Records.  NPR called Big Star “the unluckiest band in America.” They released only three records in their short career, each one great and completely different from the other. Despite critical acclaim, poor distribution hampered their first album and hardly anyone heard it. Nevertheless, Big Star amassed a cult following and became a huge influence on indie rock artists of the 80s and 90s, eventually achieving the recognition that eluded them in their time.
