[ARCHIVED] Fourth K9 Capture in a Week

A sergeant working patrol in response to recent vehicle break ins, attempted to stop two people riding bikes without lights near Willakenzie and Victorian Way at 11:03 p.m. on August 29. One of the bicyclists, later identified as Brandon Wayne Thalman, age 19, of Eugene, eluded the sergeant. His bicycle was located near the fence behind a condo.

EPD K-9 Team Officer Mike Casey and K9 Marco showed up and located Thalman hiding close by in bushes a short distance from his bicycle about an hour after he fled. The K9 team was able to persuade Thalman to come out, as Officer Casey advised him he could get Marco could over the fence.

Thalman was charged with Interfering with Police and taken into to custody for warrants. Case 20-14363

This was the fourth K9 capture in a week by three different EPD K9 teams.
