Mill Creek Wood Works
3925 Cross St., Eugene, OR 97402
Open for physical studio space visit: August 7-15, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
About the space:
Zero to eighteen: Grew up in and around La Crosse Wisconsin, just a mid-western country boy. Messed around with wood in a variety of ways. Have you ever tried to pound a nail that has been previously bent into a dry oak board?
Eighteen to twenty-six: Served my country in the USN, learned a variety mechanical and metal working skills.
Twenty-six to thirty-nine: This was the real outdoor phase of my life, I have a degree in Wilderness Leadership, which turned into teaching Outward Bound courses and a river guide.
Thirty-nine to fifty: This was the real major wood working period of my life, which began with the operation of a portable sawmill and selling my wares at a farmer’s market.
Fifty to sixty: During this time, I again served my country for two years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer and the other eight years as a field biologist.
Sixty to present: My current work is really a combination of all the above experiences rolled into the up-cycled/re-purposed items I construct today.
