About the space:
Heather is a professional artist and Founder/Director/Board President of Fine Arts Brigade/Whiteaker Printmakers. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Print Arts Northwest, and is involved in Eugene’s Art Sector development. Heather offers printmaking classes and private tutoring through WhitPrint and Lane Community College, Continuing Education. She has mentored for Print Arts Northwest Emerging Printmakers Residency Program and Oregon Supported Living Program.
Heather studied Fine Art and Psychology at the University of Oregon, as well as various colleges in California. She is a skilled printmaker, painter, and sculptor, as well as mixed-media, glass and fiber artist. She continues to expand her knowledge and skills via professional workshops and private instruction. When not in her art studio, Heather enjoys painting en plein air [with soft/chalk pastels, oil, acrylic, and watercolor], gardening, and adventures with family and friends.
Heather’s recent work addresses difficulties with the human condition through dramatic, monochromatic narratives. Her current focus are mental illness and grief.
Heather’s artwork has been included in shows around the world, and she curates exhibits for various arts organizations in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Heather also organizes the international Emerald Print Exchange project and participates in various art-related events.
