[ARCHIVED] Learn About Jefferson Street Safety Project at Community Meeting

The community is invited to come learn about a project to make parts of Jefferson Street safer. In response to neighborhood concerns and a history of crashes, Public Works staff are planning a traffic calming project to be built late in 2020 or early next year for Jefferson Street, between 13th and 28th avenues.

“We identified this stretch of Jefferson Street through Vision Zero and conversations with the neighborhood,” said Chris Henry, Transportation Planning Engineer. “There have been a lot of crashes in this corridor and we’ve heard a lot of complaints of people speeding through here. We want to make it safer for people who walk, bike and drive on this street.”

The City will hold a community meeting to share details of the project, which could include speed cushions on Jefferson Street, and listen to neighbors about concerns they may have.
