[ARCHIVED] Fatal Pedestrian/Vehicle Crash on eastbound I-105 at Coburg Road Overpass

On Tuesday, February 4, at approximately 8:43p.m., Central Lane 911 received multiple 911 calls regarding a person lying in the roadway on eastbound I-105 near the Coburg Road overpass.


Eugene Police Department and Eugene/Springfield Fire Department responded and located an individual in the roadway, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.


Eastbound I-105 at Coburg Road was closed for approximately five hours while Eugene Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation team responded and conducted their investigation. The preliminary investigation showed the individual had been struck by multiple vehicles, and investigators are working to piece together the sequence of events leading up to and during the collision.


The identity of the individual is unknown and the Lane County Medical Examiner will conduct further investigation.
