In response to neighborhood concerns about speeding traffic, a history of crashes, and measured speeding on Jefferson Street, a traffic calming project is being developed for construction later this year. City staff will listen to comments on a proposal to install traffic calming speed cushions on Jefferson Street between 13th and 28th avenues. Speed cushions slow traffic like speed humps while also allowing the passage of emergency vehicles.
The intent of the traffic calming project is to address speeding traffic and improve the comfort and safety of the street. Jefferson Street has been identified as a Vision Zero corridor where efforts are focused to reduce crashes and improve safety for all people using the street. Please come to the community meeting to learn about the proposal and share your comments.
