Dalton Styles Johnson, age 28, of Grants Pass, was arrested for Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Use Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Theft in the First Degree after a shooting on New Year's Day. The shooting was found to have been a road rage incident based on vehicle ownership. Detectives are still looking for the involved Honda.

Previous Info: At 9:21 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Eugene Police received calls regarding a shooting involving two vehicles near 7th Place and Seneca Road. Media called the PIO and Lt. Doug Mozan provided interviews and a news release. Story: Early information suggests a dispute occurred between the occupants of a White Dodge Caliber, and a Silver or Teal Honda (Accord or Civic). At least three shots were fired from inside the Caliber towards the Honda, and each vehicle fled the scene. Officers flooded the area, and quickly located the involved Dodge Caliber parked in a lot near West 11th Ave and Bailey Hill. They located two of the three described occupants nearby, including one who may be the shooter. A third occupant of the Dodge was later located with help from a Springfield Police K9. At this time, we are still looking for the Silver or Teal Honda involved, and encourage anyone with information to call EPD at (541) 682-5111.

There are no known injuries to any party at this time. Eugene Police Patrol and Detectives are continuing to investigate this case, and more details may follow as the case develops. Case 20-00020
