[ARCHIVED] Vehicle-Pedestrians Crash at Franklin and Walnut

On December 23 at 6:50 p.m., officers were sent to a crash involving a vehicle and two pedestrians, Mckaylah Mae McClure, age 20, and Bastian Moffitt-Fash, age 20, at Franklin Boulevard and Walnut Street. The pedestrians had gotten off the LTD bus at the location and walked north across westbound Franklin Boulevard.

Initial investigation shows the two pedestrians had crossed against a no walk signal and the vehicle had a green light. The vehicle, a pickup truck driven by Larry Dean Brink, age 70, was going westbound on Franklin. The two pedestrians were quickly transported to a local hospital. McClure remains in critical condition and Moffitt-Fash had minor injuries.

The driver has been cooperative with the investigation and impairment is not a factor. The Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the incident.
