[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested In Stabbing Case

At 3:15 this morning, December 20, police were called to the 5400 block of Wales Drive after report a woman was being stabbed, and a female relative had barricaded herself inside an upstairs bedroom with a young child. 

 

Patrol responded and detained the suspect, Christopher Anthony Hampton, age 43, in front of the residence. They entered the home and found his girlfriend, age 44, had sustained multiple stab wounds. Officers immediately provided emergency medical aid to the victim. Eugene Springfield Fire EMS arrived to take over the victim’s care and transport her to a local hospital for treatment. During the incident dispatch provided updates to officers and the call taker helped keep the caller calm and in a safe place. 

 

Hampton has been lodged at the Lane County Jail on Charges of Assault in the First Degree. Case 19-21050
