UPDATE:
An investigation by Eugene Police Patrol officers and Property Crimes Unit detectives, led to the arrest and capture of Ricky Kyle Maxwell, age 30, no address. He pled guilty to two cases last week, resulting in an18-month prison sentence.
In March 2019, Maxwell repeatedly went to a female victim’s apartment on Willakenzie Road, and eventually attempted to break into her apartment while she was inside sleeping. A sock that he left behind, to cover an exterior light, was collected and processed for DNA evidence through Oregon State Police. DNA from that sock was identified as belonging to Maxwell.
In a second case, EPD Patrol officers arrested Maxwell for stalking after he left used condoms and a set of woman’s underwear on a different victim’s apartment door, patio, and car, in the 2900 block of Crescent.
Additional officers have been involved in arresting Maxwell in several theft incidents over the past year, and have contacted him while he was spending time in northeast Eugene neighborhoods.
