[ARCHIVED] River Road-Santa Clara Neighborhood Planing Event Nov. 13

Pumpkin Pie and Planning

With the River Road-Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan

Pumpkin Pie and Planning

After two years of work on the River Road-Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan, the Action Planning phase is wrapping up this fall. We would like to share the draft action plan at our upcoming community event. This event is an opportunity for anyone who lives, works, and plays in River Road and Santa Clara to participate in the planning process. Whether new to the neighborhood or an already active member, everyone is encouraged to jump in and forge new connections, strengthen old ones, and envision the future of the River Road and Santa Clara community!

Event Details

  • Date: Wednesday, Nov. 13
  • Time: 5:30-8 p.m., presentation and group discussion at 6 p.m.
  • Location: North Eugene High School, 200 Silver Lane
  • What: Review the draft action plan and enjoy food, entertainment, and fun activities for the whole family

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) has been leading the way building a vision for the neighborhoods. You will have a chance to review their work at the community event and provide input on which draft actions are most important to you. The Action Planning phase involves identifying specific actions and programs the community wants to see, figuring out who is responsible for implementing and maintaining them, and how much they might cost in terms of money and time. Current draft action items include everything from supporting local businesses, making safer streets for walking and biking, and—appropriate to the season—creating a local market that features the goods of neighborhood farmers and craftspeople. The CAC, working group members, and technical experts have been working through all of this since the Spring and look forward to sharing their progress.
