On October 10 at 5:01 a.m., two officers were in the Miles Way and Salty Way area investigating a possible burglary. As one of the officers was leaving the area, he saw a man riding a bike without lights in the street. He lost sight of it briefly, then saw a man hiding in some bushes with a bike in the 400 block of Salty Way.

Fischer was reaching for his waistband during this, and the officer was able to get him in custody. The bike Fischer was on had been reported stolen and was recovered.

Fischer was charged with Interfere with Police, Theft in the First Degree (Bike), Possession Of Prohibited Firearm, Carry Concealed Weapon – Brass Knuckles, Resisting Arrest, and warrant.
