[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested for Gunpoint Street Robbery

At 12:35 a.m. this morning, August 30, Eugene Police officers responded to a report of a robbery at gunpoint near 250 W. Broadway. The victims reported their skateboards were stolen by the suspect, who got out of his car and used a gun during the robbery.

The suspect was described to police and had left the scene in a compact sedan with a bicycle on the roof. Police found the car at Safeway, 18th and High, a few minutes later. They conducted a high-risk stop at 24th and Portland and the suspect, later identified as Nathan Alan Duffy, age 30, was not following commands. He repeatedly refused commands to get on his knees and a Taser was used to take him into custody safely. Police recovered property and two realistic-looking replica handguns.

Duffy was charged with Robbery in the First Degree, DUII, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Schedule 1 Drugs (mushrooms).
