The two neighborhood branches of Eugene Public Library will each be closed for about a week during May in order to paint their interiors.
The Sheldon Branch will be closed starting Monday, April 29 and will re-open on Tuesday, May 7.
The Bethel Branch will be closed starting Monday, May 20 and will re-open on Thursday, May 30.
“These facilities are well-loved and well-used. We never like to close the doors, but it’s been more than 10 years, so we think everyone will appreciate the fresh paint job once it’s done,” said Eugene Public Library Branch Manager Angie Bray.
Concerned about overdue fines?
During each branch closure, the outside book return will also be closed. There is always a 3-day grace period for borrowed items; loans can be renewed online or by phone; and items can be returned to any Eugene Public Library location, regardless of where they were borrowed. If you find you are charged overdue fines caused by the closure of your neighborhood branch, please let us know.
Concerned about holds?
Held items that expire during each closure will be kept on the shelves for you to pick up until each branch re-opens.
At Sheldon: held items will wait for you to pick up through Saturday, May 11.
At Bethel: held items will wait through Wednesday, June 5.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused during this long-awaited project. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!
