The City of Eugene, with Lane Transit District, is asking for the public’s input on MovingAhead, an in-depth review of opportunities to improve transportation safety and access along five key corridors:
- River Road
- Highway 99
- Coburg Road
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard
- 30th Avenue to Lane Community College
Public feedback is critical to provide better transportation connectivity across the city, including for people who walk, ride a bike, use a mobility device or take the bus.
The public comment period begins Monday, March 11, 2019, and will remain open until 5 p.m. on April 10, 2019. All of the feedback will be used to form the MovingAhead final recommendations, which are expected to be completed later in fall 2019.
Input Opportunities
Online
Beginning, Monday, March 11, 2019, community members can learn more about MovingAhead, and provide their feedback and ideas, through the MovingAhead online open house. About MovingAhead
MovingAhead began in 2015 as a partnership between the City of Eugene, Lane Transit District (LTD), regional agencies, and the Eugene-Springfield community. The purpose of the project is to determine what transportation investments are needed on some of our most important streets.
At the conclusion of the project, the Eugene City Council and LTD Board of Directors will select a package of transit, walking, and biking investments across these five corridors that can be funded and built over the next 10 years. This list of prioritized investments will become a powerful tool for implementing local and regional land use, transportation, and community plans.
