[ARCHIVED] Menacing suspect arrested following response from SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Team

On January 7, 2019 at 1:54 p.m., police responded to an apartment on the 600 block of West 4th Avenue regarding a dispute in which a man reportedly threatened another person with a hatchet. The man, Ryan Michael Alderfer, age 29, refused to come out of the apartment to talk with officers. SWAT and CNT responded to the scene to assist Patrol, and after several hours, Alderfer was safely taken into custody at 8:34 PM. No one was injured during this incident.  


Alderfer was arrested and lodged at the Lane County jail for Menacing and Unlawful use of a Weapon.
