[ARCHIVED] Police respond to shots fired call at apartment

At 4:26 this evening, November 29, multiple Eugene Police units were dispatched to a call reporting shots fired at an apartment in the 1700 block of Northview. (Prospect Park Apartments)

Patrol officers arrived, and EPD’s Crisis Negotiation Team was also on scene. Officers and Central Lane 911 dispatch worked diligently together, sharing information and keeping residents of this complex safe. SWAT was eventually called out and continued working with CNT and patrol units. Eugene Springfield Fire EMS had also staged in the area.

It was determined there were two men inside the involved apartment and they had not been responding to hails by police to come out. Shortly before 10 p.m., the two men, Sean Matthew Oneil, age 22, and Alexander Steven King, age 21, were eventually taken into custody, and after further investigation, arrested on several charges.

Oneil was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Shooting Prohibited Area), and Delivery of Controlled Substance To Minor.

King was charged with Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree and Interfering With Peace Officer.
